Argumentree is a platform for structured, evidence-based deliberation. These guidelines help maintain a respectful environment where diverse perspectives can be shared and evaluated on their merits.

Our Commitment

We believe that good decisions come from understanding all perspectives. Our platform is designed to facilitate constructive debate where arguments are evaluated based on evidence and reasoning, not personal attacks or popularity. We're committed to maintaining a space where everyone can participate safely and meaningfully.

What We Encourage

  • ✓Evidence-based arguments — Support your positions with credible sources, data, or logical reasoning.
  • ✓Respectful disagreement — Challenge ideas, not people. Focus on the argument, not the person making it.
  • ✓Good faith participation — Engage honestly with opposing viewpoints and acknowledge valid points.
  • ✓Constructive criticism — Point out weaknesses in arguments and suggest improvements.
  • ✓Diverse perspectives — Bring unique viewpoints and consider angles others may have missed.

What's Not Allowed

Illegal Content (Zero Tolerance)

  • • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • • Terrorist content or incitement to violence
  • • Content that violates applicable laws

Harmful Content

  • • Harassment & bullying — Targeting individuals with abuse, threats, or intimidation
  • • Hate speech — Attacking people based on protected characteristics (race, religion, gender, etc.)
  • • Doxxing — Sharing private personal information without consent
  • • Defamation — Knowingly false statements that damage reputation

Platform Abuse

  • • Spam — Repetitive, irrelevant, or promotional content
  • • Vote manipulation — Coordinated voting to artificially influence argument scores
  • • Multiple accounts — Creating accounts to evade bans or manipulate discussions
  • • Impersonation — Pretending to be another person or organization

Technical Abuse

  • • Attempting to hack, scrape, or disrupt the platform
  • • Circumventing security measures or access controls
  • • Using automated tools without authorization

AI-Generated Content

Argumentree products may include AI-generated content (arguments extracted from articles, AI agent decisions, multi-agent debates). All AI-generated content is clearly labeled with source badges.

  • • AI-generated content is subject to the same community standards as human content
  • • Users may not use AI tools to generate harmful, misleading, or spam content
  • • AI outputs should be reviewed before relying on them for important decisions

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in escalating consequences:

  1. Warning — First-time or minor violations may receive a warning
  2. Content removal — Violating content will be removed or hidden
  3. Temporary mute — Posting privileges may be suspended temporarily
  4. Account suspension — Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension
  5. Permanent ban — Severe violations or repeat offenders may be permanently banned

We provide a Statement of Reasons for moderation actions as required by the EU Digital Services Act (DSA Art. 17).
